Architects: PAUEM Architects Photography: Mary Gaudin Construction Period: 2022 Location: Carcassonne, France
Located on the border of a business park and a parcel of oak woodland, the building reflects a duality in the expression of the facades, one more institutional (zinc cladding, transom windows), the other more domestic with large office windows opening onto the surrounding vegetation and wooden walkway. The wood used in realising the Cosylva project was decided upon after collective reflection from all those involved in the project including the carpenters and sawmill folk. The cross-section of the building shows and enhances the wooden structure despite the partioned offices.
