The Roman thermal space of S. Pedro do Sul is located on the bank of the Vouga river, approximately 500 meters from the thermal water spring. The building, of Roman foundation (1st century AD), has maintained a large part of its original structure to this day and has been classified as a National Monument since 1938. Its long and diverse occupation over the centuries was marked by small signs, which did not prevent the initial Roman structure from prevailing, with much of the height of the walls and the torn-down roofs from the Roman era still remaining. The valorization, rehabilitation and conservation project was based on the recovery of the building, proposing the minimum intervention necessary for its use and correct perception. The recovery of the most striking features of the Roman period environment was worked on using scale, light and the presence of water.
